Our History

Our Place Art Organization Incorporated is a 501c3 non-profit organization established to enriching the lives of individuals with disabilities through the arts.The purpose of Our Place Art programs are to assist and support youth and adults as they find support and recognition in a community that values the unique perspectives and strengths of individuals with disabilities. Our Place Art provides workshops, trainings, and opportunities for individuals with disabilities to find their voices and express themselves through the medium of creativity.

Our Place Art was founded in 2013 by Angela Hunter to serve individuals of the disability community in Knoxville and Knox County, Tennessee. As a mother of a young adult son with Autism, Angela recognized that her son’s artistic abilities were a form of communication.
