Special story-times at Barnes & Noble and cooking class at Whole Foods Market for individuals with disabilities.

Arts and Garden Program: Therapeutic workshops for youth and young adults with Autism and other disabilities to explore various creative arts and disciplines including: art, music, dance, and sensory friendly gardening. Our Place Art often collaborates with other community organizations such as: Sunshine Ambassadors Inc. for special projects. We offer after-school classes and Saturday workshops.


Our Place Art Camps:  Full-time camps designed for youth and young adults with Autism and other disabilities that provides therapeutic programs in: art, dance, music, and teaching basic life skills. Camps are offered in the spring, summer and fall. 


Education & Life-Skills Program:  Year-round program for youth and young adults to work independently and cooperatively with their same age peers in academic and non-academic settings (i.e. monthly cooking club at Whole Foods and Barnes and Noble book club). The goal of this program is to ensure that individuals develop appropriate socialization skills, establish long-term transition goals, master IEP and other academic skills, and develop a sense of self-determination in making current and future life choices within integrated community settings.

 

Career Readiness Program: One-on-one and small group training program that assists transitional youth and young adults with finding permanent employment and developing specific job skills within integrated community settings. Participants volunteer weekly at the Knoxville Zoo, Muse Knoxville Ambassadors Program, Misty's Pet Depot, Davis Art Studio  KARM and UT Gardens.


Family & Community Program: Monthly community events and trainings to raise disability awareness, support groups for parents and siblings of individuals with disabilities, and annual Our Place Art Back to School: Health & Disability Resource Fair. 


Family Gardening at Central Baptist Church, Fountain City: Gardening opportunities for youth and young adults with Autism and other disabilities and their families to learn about healthy eating and gardening at our community garden located Central Baptist Church, Fountain City.
